Committee: Discipline
Decision Date: 24 Aug 1994
Summary:
In August 1994, the Discipline Committee found Dr. Jabouin guilty of professional misconduct, as defined in s. 29(33) of Ontario Regulation 548/90, as amended, in that he engaged in conduct or an act relevant to the practice of medicine that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional. Consequently, the Committee ordered that Dr. Jabouin be reprimanded, with the fact of the reprimand to be recorded on the Register, and that his licence to practice be suspended for a period of three months. This suspension was itself to be suspended, however, provided that the Doctor agreed to undertake a gender sensitivity counselling program. The Committee also ordered that periodic reports be made to the Registrar, on a frequency to be agreed upon between the Registrar and the treating physician.
